Telephone Pictionary is a great game for breaking the ice as well as just a fun way to spend time together. An even number of participants is required to play it, but any size group can play. Each player needs as many blank, unlined note cards or pieces of paper as there are players as well as a pen or pencil. Sit in a circle, and on the front of the first card, everyone writes a sentence, such as “Mr. Smith walked along the beach on a sunny day,” or “Waste not, want not.” Then they pass the entire stack of cards to the player to the left, who then reads the sentence, puts that card at the back of the stack, and has to draw their interpretation of the sentence. When they are finished drawing, they pass the whole stack to the player on their left, who without looking at the first sentence has to interpret the drawing and write a sentence about it. This continues until the cards have gone around the entire circle and everyone ends up with their original sentence. Then everyone takes turns reading their sentence’s progression around the circle. Use the backs of the same set of cards to play again!
