Laughing Lisa And Think Quick

Laughing Lisa, Sweet Sarah

This name game is fairly basic, but it allows participants to introduce themselves in an easy-to-remember way.  Everyone goes around the circle and says their name with an adjective which starts with the same letter.  The tricky part is that everyone has to say the name and adjective of everyone before them.  For example: “Rowdy Rick, Marvelous Maryanne, Trickster Tom, and I’m Rockin’ Robin.”

A variation on this game that gets people up and moving is replacing the adjective with a pose or a motion.  For example, if Mark is a swimmer he can make a swimming motion as he introduces himself.  Then, while going around the circle, everyone must copy the motions of everyone else.

Think Quick

Think quick is a name game for after first introductions.  Once everyone has at least heard everyone else’s names, this game helps them stick.

Divide the group into two smaller groups and have them sit on the floor facing each other.         Between the groups have two people stand and hold a blanket thick enough that it can’t be seen through.  Allow each group to select someone who will sit facing the blanket.  On a count of three the two people standing will drop the blanket.  The first person to say the other’s name correctly wins.
